Somnoware Diagnostics

EnsoSleep PPG integration

EnsoSleep PPG analyzes photoplethysmogram (PPG) signals from pulse oximeters for sleep study tests. It helps diagnose sleep-disordered breathing events, such as obstructive apneas, central apneas and hypopneas. The software provides AI-driven analysis and generates editable sleep study reports for clinician review and is compatible with multiple FDA-cleared pulse oximeters.

Before you assign EnsoSleep PPG devices to patients, contact Resmed customer support to link a facility in Somnoware to your EnsoSleep PPG account.

Set the default values for the EnsoSleep PPG devices for a facility.

  1. Click the Configuration icon ( SW_Icon_Configuration.PNG ).

  2. Next to the facility, click the Edit icon.

  3. Click the HST administrations tab.

  4. In the Supported Devices table, next to EnsoSleep PPG, click Set Default Value.

  5. Configure the following:

    • Total Nights: Enter the total number of nights the patient has to complete their sleep study.

    • Successful Nights: Enter the minimum number of successful nights the patient must complete.

    • Minimum TST (Minutes): Enter the minimum number of minutes the patient must sleep across all nights.

  6. Click Save.

  1. Set up the EnsoSleep PPG device.

  2. In the Scheduler calendar, click the patient's appointment.

  3. Click Checkout Device.

  4. In the Nights section, you can change the default settings.

This section is auto-populated with the default values configured for the facility.

  5. Click Checkout.

EnsoData automatically creates the patient in the EnsoData organization that is mapped to the Somnoware facility.

    Important

EnsoData does not email the patient their activation code. For more information on sending a patient their activation code, see Send EnsoSleep PPG setup code to patient.

  1. Go to Scheduler > HST.

  2. Filter by Pending Check-In Only.

  3. Click the patient.

  4. In the Appointment section, take note of the code in the EnsoSleep PPG Setup Code field.

After the patient completes a night of their sleep study, the data is uploaded to EnsoSleep PPG. This triggers a notification in Somnoware for physicians to review the study.

  1. Hover over the Manager module ( SW_Icon_Studies.PNG ) and click Physician Manager.

  2. In the Physician Manager submenu, click Interpreting > Pend. Interpretation.

In the Multinight column, you can view the number of nights completed.

  3. Click the Interpretation icon.

  4. Click View tracings to view the raw data.

  5. Click Open Study in New Tab.

The sleep study displays in the EnsoSleep PPG.

  6. View or edit the raw data.

After finalizing any changes to the data in EnsoSleep PPG, the updated scored report will be available in Somnoware.

Physicians can review the sleep study results in the Physician Manager. If the EnsoSleep PPG results are not available by the expected check-in date, physicians can download the study to process it.

  1. Go to Scheduler > HST.

  2. Filter by Pending Check-in Only.

  3. Click the patient.

  4. From the Studies tab, click Request Study Download.

Starting with Somnoware version 1.2602.0, Somnoware can import and display more data points from EnsoSleep PPG studies. The following table lists each additional data point available in Somnoware.

If a physician tries to generate an interpretation report after only one study of a multi-night sleep study was completed, a message displays indicating all data for the study was not collected. The physician can click OK to generate the report and finalize the study or click Cancel to wait for the remaining data to upload.

For more information, see Generate interpretation report.
