Create patients
Use the Patients module to manually add new patients. If Somnoware integrates with your electronic medical record (EMR) provider, it automatically creates a patient chart via HL7.
In the Patients module, click New Patient.
In the first step, add the patient's general information.
In the Identification Tags section, you can choose tags, such as "CDL driver" or "hypertension", to categorize the patient.
Click More information to add an alternate medical record number (MRN) or emergency contact information.
You can click Save and close to add the patient and exit the dialog, or click Next to continue adding patient information.
In the second step, add the patient's clinical information.
In the Physicians and Order sections, add the patient's physicians. Only these physicians can access the patient's data.
If the physician is not displayed in the list, click Add New Physician to add them.
Select the radio option next to the physician who will provide follow-up care for the patient.
Click More information to add pacemaker information or durable medical equipment (DME) provider information.
You can click Save and close to add the patient and exit the dialog, or click Next to continue adding patient information.
In the third step, add the patient's insurance information.
Click More information to add a secondary or tertiary insurance.
You can click Save and close to add the patient and exit the dialog, or click Next to continue adding patient information.
In the final step, add documents associated with the patient, such as the patient's referrals, orders, identification documents and insurance card.
Click Create.
If the patient must be scheduled for a sleep study but does not have a date selected yet, you can add the patient to the waitlist.
