Order DME
If the physician recommends sleep therapy equipment for the patient, you can create a pending DME order for a physician to sign.
Hover over the manager module (
) and click Study Manager.From the Study Manager sub-menu, click Finalized.
Hover over the patient and click the More icon (
).Click Order DME.
Verify the study is correct and click Continue.
In the Prescription info section, select the prescription information including:
DME provider: This can be changed if needed before the DME order is sent.
Prescribing physician: This is the physician who must sign the DME order.
Review the Recommendation and Diagnosis sections to ensure the information prepopulated in these fields is correct.
In the Machine details section, select the device and settings to prescribe to the patient.
In the Supplies section, select the mask, tubing and any other supplies.
Select one of the following options:
Electronic Signature: This adds the order to the Pending signature list in the DME Manager. The physician can sign the order from this list.
Manual Signature: If the signing physician is not in Somnoware, choose this option to create the order to print and give to the physician to sign.
Click Save.
