Somnoware HL7 specification
This section provides an overview of HL7 Connect for Somnoware by Resmed (referred to hereafter as Somnoware), a software solution that enables Somnoware to exchange data with an external health systems using the Health Level 7 (HL7) communication standard. When an external system exchanges data with Somnoware, it and the external system can function as a single, integrated solution for a clinic or medical pratice.
The Somnoware HL7 interface includes the following functions:
Somnoware receives patient demographics, appointment data and study order data (provider, procedure, diagnosis, location, referring physician, zip code and insurance plan) from the external electronic health record (EHR) system using the HL7 specification.
Somnoware sends observation results to the external EHR using the HL7 specification.
All systems run at the same time and keep exchanging information when the end user enters it.
This document describes the HL7 data items Resmed supports for integration with hospitals and EHR systems. The platform enables the exchange of diagnostic and therapy data between Somnoware and EHR partners using HL7 messaging.
