Configure Hypoxemia classification
Configure the Hypoxemia classification for use in interpretation reports. Hypoxemia provides an ICSD-3-based classification that uses the total time that SpO2 remains below the applicable threshold. Somnoware applies the configured duration values and displays the applicable impression for physician review.
The Hypoxemia classification is supported in NPSG, CPAP and HST PAT studies across Adult, Pediatric and Infant templates.
Hypoxemia uses the following default SpO2 thresholds:
Adult: Below 88%
Pediatric and infant: Below 90%
The default duration values are:
Not significant: Less than 5 minutes
Significant: 5 minutes or greater
Users can configure the duration values used for the Not Significant and Significant classifications.
The Oxygen Saturation (Nadir) classifications remains available. Hypoxemia is an additional ICSD-3-based classification and does not replace Oxygen Saturation (Nadir). Users can choose which classification to display in their interpretation reports.
Existing physician profiles continue to use the Oxygen Saturation (Nadir) classification by default. Physicians can enable the Hypoxemia classification when they are want to use it. For new physician profiles and profiles that are reset, the Hypoxemia classification is enabled by default and Oxygen Saturation (Nadir) is disabled.
Hypoxemia threshold values are synchronized across related physician preference settings. When a user updates a threshold in one configuration location, Somnoware updates the corresponding value in the related settings.
For split-night studies, Somnoware applies the configured Hypoxemia criteria to the appropriate study segments. The physician can review the resulting information when interpreting the study.
