Appendix 3: HL7 inbound ADT, AIU and ORM flow
The following diagram shows how inbound HL7 messages (ADT, SIU, ORM) are processed within Somnoware. Each message type follows a structured validation and mapping sequence that begins with clinic identification. Depending on the message type, additional lookups, such as appointment type or passthrough mappings, are performed. Once validated, data is extracted and saved into the appropriate patient, appointment or order records using global extract and save operations. Local overrides may be applied during this process to accommodate clinic-specific customizations.
